🏒 FEBRUARY PLAYER OF THE MONTH 🏒

Congratulations to #27, Lucian Chabot of the Troy Sting 6U Teal team!

In his first season as part of the TYHA family, Lucian has already become a player everyone notices the moment he steps on the ice. When asked what position he plays, Lucian’s answer says it all: “Wherever the team needs me!”, the perfect attitude for a great teammate.

A big Detroit Red Wings fan, Lucian models his game after Dylan Larkin, and you can see it in the way he skates fast, chases the puck, and never stops working. Over the course of the season, Lucian has been one of the most improved players in the 6U division, and his dedication and effort both on and off the ice have really paid off.

Lucian has had some huge scoring moments this season, leading the team in goals in several games. One of his favorite hockey memories, and one we’re sure his teammates remember too, was scoring 7 goals at the Grosse Ile event and another 7 goals at the Jamboree! With his quick skating, impressive stickhandling, and determination, Lucian was tough for anyone to stop. At the most recent jamboree, he also showed strong defense, proving he can help his team all over the ice.

Most importantly, Lucian brings great energy, effort, and excitement to every game and practice, making him a fun teammate and a player who loves the game.

Lucian, your hard work and awesome improvement earned you February Player of the Month honors!

🏒 JANUARY PLAYER OF THE MONTH 🏒

Congratulations to #34, Nash Hafner of the 2015 Troy Sting Squirt AA team!

Now in his second season as part of the TYHA family, Nash continues to make a strong impact every time he hits the ice. An explosive forward, Nash models his game after Lucas Raymond and is a proud Detroit Red Wings fan, showcasing speed, creativity, and a natural offensive touch inspired by his favorite player and team.

Nash earned this recognition from his outstanding December performance, where he was a constant offensive threat. With a great first step and an excellent ability to find seams in the defense, Nash consistently turned opportunities into high-danger scoring chances for himself and his teammates. He isn’t afraid to battle in traffic and routinely comes out of scrums with possession of the puck. His offensive impact showed on the scoresheet, finishing the month with 6 goals and 5 assists.

One of Nash’s favorite hockey memories is playing at Munn Ice Arena last season and winning the game in overtime; a moment that reflects his competitiveness, confidence, and love for the game. Beyond the stats, Nash’s effort, energy, and team-first mindset make him a valuable teammate and a joy to coach.

Nash, thank you for your hard work, competitiveness, and offensive impact. Your performance earned you January Player of the Month honors.

🏒❄️ What an awesome weekend for TYHA at the Royal Oak Outdoor Classic!

Our 6U teams showed what hockey is all about with teamwork, sportsmanship, and cheering each other on. The Teal team earned a big win to help the White team advance and then proudly supported and cheered them on as they skated all the way to the finals. We’re so proud of these young players for being great teammates on and off the ice! 🐝
