Playing Background

I played 12 years of competitive hockey, spending the majority of my career at the AA level with organizations such as Belle Tire, Michigan Jaguars, and the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies. I specialized as a defenseman, modeling my game after Nicklas Lidstrom—focusing on positioning, hockey IQ, and decision-making rather than size or speed. This approach shaped my understanding of the game and continues to influence how I teach young players today.

Coaching Experience

My coaching career began as a volunteer Learn-to-Skate instructor in Wisconsin, which led to a head coaching role with the Lake County Vipers 10U Tier II team. It was there that I discovered my passion for youth development and helping young athletes grow both on and off the ice. I later joined TYHA as an assistant coach in the 6U program and transitioned into the head coaching role the following season. In addition to coaching, I took on leadership roles in player development and growth of the game, serving as TYHA Growth Coordinator and 6U/8U Program Director. I currently continue in these roles while assisting with coaching at both age levels.
